Who are you, sis? I ask this because whether you are 15, 23, 37, or 64 years old, you have a unique identity. When asked this question, women often answer with their name, occupation, or a title such as friend, mother, wife, etc…" depending on the environment. But it's much deeper than that.
Who are you to yourself? What do you see when you look in the mirror? Or do you avoid that mirror because it's painful to face what you will see?
As women, our self-proclaimed identity stems from what we believe about ourselves. Our attitudes, decisions, and values come from our identity and who we believe we are. So I ask again, who are you?
A massive problem with our generation today is a form of identity crisis. We simply don't know who we are. We are void of identity, so we are void of values, and that's why we behave the way we behave.
...Maybe you wouldn't let him treat you like that or entertain certain men if you understood your value. Perhaps you will realize your insecurity isn't the problem; it's a symptom of not knowing your worth.
Sis, not knowing your worth is tied to your lack of identity. This world will define you if you don't know who you are. How often have you allowed social media to influence your worth or decisions? How often have you allowed your friends, circumstances, or the world to dictate who you are? How many times have you allowed men to treat you terribly because you felt you weren't good enough, couldn't do better, or have been misguided on what love is? How many times have you body-shamed and compared yourself to Instagram models instead of loving yourself? Have you ever done something you regret but don't even know why you did it in the first place? Yeah, I've been there, sis. We can get so lost in this world and not know who we are.
Every action you take is driven by something. You can be driven by a void, societal standards, or your identity in Christ. And if you don't know why you do certain things, that's a dangerous place to be because who is in control of your life and identity? The world or the Word. It's time to wake up, sis.
You are Loved. You are Chosen. You are Forgiven. You are Seen. You are Redeemed. Your worth is Beyond Rubies.

When you don’t know your worth you will give yourself away to those who don’t deserve you, who can’t even relate to you because they were never on your level & they will use you for their benefit. It’s so important to know your worth and know who and what you are to be able to decipher what’s good for you.
